We don’t pay our technicians commission on sales, we don’t give them spiffs every time they sell a part. We don’t require them to meet sales quotas, or service quotas. We don’t promote an environment where technicians are competing against one another. All these things create an environment of dishonesty, where technicians try to sell unnecessary products and equipment to customers.
We don’t pay installers a flat rate fee per job, where the faster they finish the more they make per hour. This creates some very bad and incomplete installs.
While most companies don’t practice these principles there are some around us that do.
